Supplementary Conditions of Contest


 
  1. The GPW will be conducted under the auspices of the Warsaw Bridge Union (WBU).
     
  2. The GPW will be hosted at the Sport Hall, Leopolda Staffa Str. 3/5 from 23rd August to 1st September 2019.
     
  3. By participating in the GPW, each contestant agrees that all or part of any event may be filmed, recorded or otherwise documented or publicized at the discretion of the WBU.
     
  4. The Congress Pairs Tournaments (KTP) and the I and II Open Pairs Tournaments (OTP) will be played in 10-boards mini-sessions. Leaving the playing area during the mini-session period is forbidden. After each mini-session there will be a technical break from 5 to 7 minutes.
     
  5. Players are obliged to strictly observe the time frame of the tournament.
     
  6. IV KTP, VIII KTP, XII KTP and II OTP will be played by the closed finals A, B and C. The number of pairs that will qualify for each finals shall be announced immediately upon the start of each tournament. In IV KTP, VIII KTP and II OTP, after closing the finals, the negative results will be divided by 2. In these three tournaments, in the case of split seats before the finals, the higher place decides the result of the calculated Cavendish system (or the butler if the tournament is scored as the simple Cavendish system).
     
  7. The following arrangements apply to all tournaments played in the GPW:
     
    • PBU General Conditions of Contest with all supplements may apply but any inconsistency between these SCoC and the GCoC, the SCoC shall prevail.
    • A convention card is recommended for the protection of its own rights.
    • Tournament entries will be taken up to 5 minutes before the start of the competition (except for the individual tournament and the team tournament, where the entries will be accepted up to 15 minutes before the start of the competition). After this time, the Organiser reserves the right not to accept the participants.
    • Smoking and the consumption of alcoholic beverages of any nature in the playing area is strictly prohibited.
       
  8. During the Congress will be provided overall classifications of Congress Tournaments and Open Tournaments.
     
  9. After the Tournament Director has given the ruling, any appeal against such ruling will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Review Regulation.
     
  10. The score correction period in Law 79C expires at the time specified as1h after the start of the next tournament; and thereafter, the result will be final, with the following exceptions:
     
    • V Congress Tournament and in the teams and V Open tournament, where the correction period passes 15 minutes after the end of the tournament.
    • During the barometer tournaments and play-offs (teams and V OTP) the score correction period ends 10 minutes before (but not earlier than 5 minutes after the end of the round with the incriminated board) start of the round, where the change of the result could affect the setting.
       
  11. In the event of any doubt or dispute as to such meaning, the decision of the Chief TD in agreement with the Organizing Committee shall be final and conclusive.
